Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
And no one puts new wine into old wineskins; or else the new wine will burst the wineskins and be spilled, and the wineskins will be ruined. – Lk 5:37

If you want to see God do something you’re never seen before, you have to put yourself somewhere you’ve never been before. Do you want God to do something new in your life? He can’t force new wine into an old wineskin! You are the wineskin: your routines, the way you worship, and the prayers you pray! So the question is not, “God, why won’t You do it?” The question is, “God, what do I need to change so You can do it through me?”

If you want to see God move, get ready. Position yourself! Cry out to Him like never before! Be more desperate for His presence than ever before! When you make the wineskin ready, God will bring the wine.

Prayer:

Father, if there’s anything You want me to change, let me know! I’m not married to my rituals and routines; I’m married to You! You have full permission to come into my life, and have Your way, in Jesus’ name.
