Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. – Gen. 1:1

God created you. He created everything around you. He formed you from the dust! He put air in your lungs. He gave you the ability to breathe! He gave you the ability to bleed. Everything good in your life is from Him. “All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made” (Jn. 1:3). You are “His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that [you] should walk in them” (Eph. 2:10). And if He created you, you are not your own. You belong to Him!

Let this year be the year you give yourself fully to God. Now is not the time to live for yourself. Did you make yourself out of the dust? Did you wake yourself up this morning? Of course not. And the same way you didn’t pave your way into existence, you cannot find your way into eternal life on your own. You need Jesus. He will make a way for you! But only He can take you there.

Declare and decree this over your new year: this will be the Year of Jesus in your life. Everything for Him! Nothing less.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for creating me! Thank You for forming me from the dust in the ground. I am so grateful that You made me! And I will live my life for You, 100%, from this day forward, in Jesus’ name.
