Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
This will be written for the generation to come, that a people yet to be created may praise the Lord. – Ps 102:18

Life is short! We won’t be here forever. We come to this world with nothing, and we leave exactly the same way. The only thing that matters is: what kind of legacy are you going to leave? What will you be remembered for?

In Psalm 102, the psalmist knows why he is writing. He is writing for the generations to come. He was writing so boys and girls – children who hadn’t even been born yet – would praise the Lord. He gave his life as an offering so future generations could stand on his shoulders and reach heights he was never able to attain!

Your life is a testimony for generations to come. Will the way you are living inspire the next generation to follow God with their whole heart? Will you live your life for selfish reasons and vain pursuits? Or will you pour your life out as an offering at His feet?

Prayer:

Father, I want to live my life for You. I want the way I live to inspire generations to come. I don’t ever want my life to just be about me; I want everything to be about You, in Jesus’ name!
