Commentary from Pastor Mike White:
Jesus answered and said to him, “Because I said to you, ‘I saw you under the fig tree,’ do you believe? You will see greater things than these.” – Jn 1:50
Jesus is always willing to do something miraculous so that new believers will have faith in Him. Nathanael doubted Him: so Jesus told Nathanael something about himself that no other man could ever know.
It was the greatest miracle Nathanael had ever seen. He was amazed, and gave his life to Jesus on the spot. But Jesus immediately called him to more. He told Nathanael he would see greater things.
Don’t settle for what you have already seen. Jesus wants to show you greater things! He wants to prove that God is at work around you, all the time. Better still, He promises that when we become His yielded vessels, we will see greater things come through our own hands!
“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.” – Jn 14:12
Prayer:
Father, thank You for calling me to greater things! I accept. Work through me to accomplish the supernatural. I am Your servant; have Your way!
