Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!” – Jn. 1:29
John saw Jesus coming toward him. His response was not to run away, or to hide his face and pretend he didn’t notice. His response was to proclaim Him! What do you do when Jesus approaches? Do you stop and spend time with Him? Do you honor Him with your praise? Or do you allow the moment to pass and pretend you didn’t notice He dropped in?
Take a moment today to celebrate the presence of Jesus. He is here. He is wherever you are! You’ve been asking for Him to show up; so what are you going to do when He comes towards you? When you draw near to God, He will draw near to you (Jas. 4:8). As He does, make sure you take time to stop and enjoy His presence.
Prayer:
Father, remind me to take time to slow down! I want to celebrate Your presence. When You show up, I don’t want to just keep rushing through my life! I am so grateful for Your presence, and I want to live my life in awe of Your goodness, in Jesus’ name!
