Commentary from Pastor Michael White:

When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. – Acts 2:1

In one verse, we see the requirements for revival spelled out by the early church:

1) The Day of Pentecost had fully come. God’s timing came to pass. Revival – the Holy Spirit moving in fresh new ways – doesn’t happen when you want it to; it happens when He wants it to!

2) They were all with one accord. Everyone gathered in that place was like-minded. They were all expressly concerned with God’s Will being made manifest. They all had the mind of Christ (1 Cor 2:16), and were crying out for His presence!

3) They were all in one place. There is something that happens when members of the church come together in community. Revival springs forth in ways that would not be possible if we all stayed home. Translation: GO TO CHURCH!

Sunday morning church should look like revival. When we gather with one accord, in one place, and wait for God, He will make His presence known!

Prayer:

Father, we ask for revival in churches all across the United States this morning. Pour out Your Spirit on our nation in a fresh new way, in Jesus’ name!
