CityLight Pastor Commentary:
“Also a multitude gathered from the surrounding cities to Jerusalem, bringing sick people and those who were tormented by unclean spirits, and they were all healed” (Acts 5:16). All means all. The apostles were empowered by the Holy Spirit to preach the Gospel in the name of Jesus Christ, and were promised that miracles would follow their speech (Mark 16:15-18). They were not disappointed. Peter was so anointed to heal that his shadow healed everyone on whom it fell (v 15). We are called, as Jesus’ disciples, to have a healing impact on every person we encounter, and every situation in which we find ourselves. Go forth, preaching and praying, knowing that God has promised His Holy Spirit will work through you to confirm His word!
Prayer:
Father, thank You that the apostles healed ALL the people who came to them. Thank you that your Word calls us to strive for greater miracles than even Jesus Christ Himself (Jn 14:12)! I step into that calling in Jesus’ Name!
