Commentary from Pastor Mike White:
And through the hands of the apostles many signs and wonders were done among the people. And they were all with one accord in Solomon’s Porch. – Acts 5:12
Signs and wonders take place when we are united. The apostles were all, “with one accord.” Luke uses the Greek word homothumadon (Strong’s #3661) to describe the Christian community. All the members of the early church were with one mind, and one passion. They all sought the mind of Christ, and agitated to make Jesus famous.
When we – the church – make unity a priority, God will work signs and wonders through our hands. Unity does not mean every church, or church member, has to be the same. Unity does not mean that we cannot be unique. It simply means that we must work together towards the goal of making Jesus famous.
When we are divided, God can do nothing; but when we are united, He can bring heaven to earth.
Prayer:
Father, I pray for unity in Your church in Jesus’ name. Unite Your church so that signs, wonders and miracles can come to pass as we pray for the people around us. Get us excited to come together in faith!
