CityLight Pastor Commentary:
“For the Lord takes pleasure in His people; He will beautify the humble with salvation” (Ps 149:4). This is such a simple truth, but one that is so often overlooked. God takes pleasure in you! You might say, “I’m not much to look at…so why would He ever take pleasure in me?” Salvation – humble admission of a need to be saved, and reliance on Jesus Christ as Savior – makes us beautiful. Salvation makes us attractive to God! God loves you; but He doesn’t stop there. He likes you. He calls you friend. Enjoy your relationship with a God who loves you!
Prayer:
Father, thank You for loving me! I’m not perfect, and I don’t deserve Your love; but You love me just the same.
