CityLight Pastor Commentary:
“Thus says the Lord, the God of David your father: ‘I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears; surely I will heal you…I will deliver you and this city from the hand of the king of Assyria; and I will defend this city…’” (2 Kings 20:5-6). Hezekiah cried out to God, asking to be healed of a terminal illness. God healed him and granted him another 15 years of life; but He didn’t stop there. Hezekiah was restored to complete health, and then God promised him victory over his enemies. God not only restores, but He also promotes. Jesus not only restores us to complete forgiveness, but also promotes us into Heaven on earth!
Prayer:
Father, thank You for restoring me! But I know You don’t stop there. I want to partner with You for promotion. Tell me what You want me to do, and I’ll do it! Tell me where You want me to be, and I’ll be there!
