Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
Then Festus, when he had conferred with the council, answered, “You have appealed to Caesar? To Caesar you shall go!” – Acts 25:12
Paul was in chains. He was accused by the Jewish leaders of something he didn’t do! But God would use it all for His glory.
Jesus had promised Paul he would proclaim the Gospel in Rome (Acts 23:11). So how would Paul get there? God used the accusations of evil men to give Paul a free trip! Because the Jewish leaders wanted to kill him, Paul would now have an audience with Caesar himself: a man who shaped the very culture of the known world at that time. God would bring Paul before “rulers and kings” (Mk 13:9) so he could proclaim the Gospel for the world to hear.
God’s methods may be counterintuitive, and they may not always seem like the easiest way to get things done; but God knows what He is doing. Trust Him. It might seem like everything is falling apart; but God is about to give you the chance to share His goodness in front of your biggest audience yet!
Prayer:
Father, thank You. Thank You for turning destruction into deliverance. I know You can use anything and everything for Your glory! Give me an audience, and I will preach Your word, in Jesus’ name!
