Commentary from Pastor Michael White:

…to those who are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all who in every place call on the name of Jesus Christ our Lord… – 1 Cor 1:2

We are sanctified – set apart as holy and free from sin – in Christ Jesus. Our sanctification depends on our position in Jesus, not on our condition in the world! We are made clean in Him. We are blameless (1 Cor 1:8) in God’s sight because we are hidden in Jesus (Col 3:3).

Salvation doesn’t mean you are perfect; it simply means you are on your way to perfection. You will make mistakes, but that doesn’t mean your salvation is of no effect. God wants to change you from the inside out. The moment you start believing you are clean is the moment your actions start reflecting that condition!

Prayer:

Father, change me from the inside out! I know that I am sanctified in Jesus. Thank You that my position in Christ never changes!
