Commentary from Pastor Mike White:
“He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.” – 2 Cor 9:6-7
Sowing and reaping is a Biblical principle. If a farmer sows much seed, he should expect to reap accordingly. However, if instead of sowing and spreading, he keeps his seed in his pocket, he will reap sparingly.
Do you want to become financially blessed? You first have to become a giver. We actually prove to God that He can trust us with greater increase by becoming responsible stewards of what He has already given into our hands. Commitment requires trust. Everything we “own” in this life is actually not ours; God has simply lent it to us. When we prove we are faithful with little, He will give us much.
Prayer:
Father, make me a good steward of Your possessions! I want to manage everything You have given me well. I want to be a responsible steward of everything I have so that You know You can trust me with more.
