Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
I will praise You forever, because You have done it; and in the presence of Your saints I will wait on Your name, for it is good. – Ps. 52:9

David was waiting for a breakthrough! But his posture in waiting was praise. God hadn’t done it yet! But David praised God like His promise was complete.

What a beautiful tension. It hasn’t happened yet! But I believe God has already done it. If you’re like me, you have promises from God that have yet to manifest in your life. You’re waiting! And waiting can be frustrating. It can be hard! But make a decision to praise Him in your waiting. Why? Because even though you haven’t seen it materialize in your life, He has already done everything He promised to do.

God made provision for every promise He has ever spoken over you on the Cross. Jesus Christ died on the Cross in your place 2,000 years ago. In Him we have eternal life (Jn. 10:28). In Him we have redemption (Rom. 3:24)! In Him we get to come “boldly” to God (Heb. 4:16). In Him we have a guarantee that God hears us (2 Cor. 1:22). In Him we are spotless and free from sin because our life is “hidden with Christ in God” (Col. 3:3)!

What are you waiting for? Won’t you make a decision today to praise Him in the waiting? He has already done it; and all you have to do is “wait on [His] name, for it is good.”

Prayer:

Father, help me to embrace the tension that comes with living in time while You are outside of time. You have already done it! But there are things I have yet to receive. Help me to wait in faith, praising You all the way there, in Jesus’ name.
