Commentary from Pastor Michael White:

“Then I said, ‘Here am I! Send me'” (Is 6:8). Zeal for God is proven by your willingness and ability to step up and step out when God calls you. Isaiah was living in a sad time in Israel’s history. God was looking for someone who would understand Him and seek His word (see Ps 53:2). Isaiah stepped forward as The Lord anointed him to speak. In a time of severe oppression and spiritual famine, Isaiah became the carrier of an amazing promise. In the midst of doubt and despair, God promised His Messiah, Jesus Christ. That promise would become the hope of God’s people until its fulfillment.

Partner with God. Say yes to everything He wants to do in your life. In times of doubt and despair, He will make you the carrier of something great.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for Your promises! Even in the darkest hours of my life, help me to look to You for a hope and a future.
