Commentary from Pastor Michael White:

“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God…” (Phil 4:6) Do you experience anxiety on a daily basis? Are you praying with faith, authority and thanksgiving? Paul promises that when we make our requests known to God through prayer, we will be anxious for nothing: completely and totally anxiety-free!

You have a choice when you pray: are you going to believe God hears your prayers? If you don’t, the result will be anxiety. But if you do, the result will be perfect peace: “…and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus” (Phil 4:7). Paul is giving us a choice: will we choose understanding, or peace in knowing God hears our prayers? Peace is better than understanding. When we choose peace and leave the understanding to God, we will be anxiety-free!

Prayer:

Father, thank You for removing all anxiety from my life! I choose peace over understanding. I choose to make my requests known to You in prayer, knowing that I’ll be left anxiety-free!
