Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
[Jesus],…having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, …having nailed it to the cross. Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it. – Col 2:14-15
Jesus removed every obstacle between you and God when He died on the cross!
Jesus fulfilled the law for us. He wiped out the Old Covenant requirements for holiness and nailed them to the cross! We no longer have to earn God’s favor through good works. His love is given to us freely as a gift!
He defeated every enemy who could ever turn us away from God. He disarmed – permanently defeated – every power and principality that stands contrary to Heaven. Satan has no power to interfere between you and God! The enemy has no authority to distract your attention from your Father in Heaven.
Nothing is left standing in your way! Jesus removed all obstacles. All that’s left for you is perfect relationship with your Father in Heaven!
Prayer:
Father, thank You for making a way to happiness and wholeness where there was no way. Thank You for the gift of salvation: perfect fellowship in Heaven with You!
