Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
The wise men are ashamed, they are dismayed and taken. Behold, they have rejected the word of the Lord; so what wisdom do they have? – Jer. 8:9
The more time passes, the more we tend to forget about God’s Word. We grow up in church, but as we age the Word of God becomes less relevant. We found nations on Biblical ideals, but as we progress the Word of God is not progressive enough. We have encounters with Jesus, only to forget days later that He is His Word, and it is by staying in His Word that we stay close to His heart.
God’s Word is still the source. It is the source of wisdom! It is the source of creation. It is the path to prosperity! It is the balm that will bring healing to your wounds. Don’t forget about the Word of God! You need His Word to know His will.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for reminding me of the importance of Your Word! I want to meditate on Your Word day and night. I want to press in to Your Word like never before! Your Word is fullness to my soul, and life everlasting, in Jesus’ name.
