Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
You have forgiven the iniquity of Your people; You have covered all their sin. Selah. You have taken away all Your wrath; You have turned from the fierceness of Your anger. – Ps 85:2-3
When you believe in Jesus, God forgives your iniquity. He covers all your sin. When you give your heart to Jesus, your life is “hidden with Christ” (Col 3:3). When He looks at you, He doesn’t see your sin; He sees His Son!
God didn’t just exercise some of His wrath on Jesus at the cross; He exercised all of it! Because He poured it all out on Jesus, that means there is none left for you!
As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us. – Ps 103:12
Prayer:
Father, thank You for forgiving all my sins. Thank You for pouring out Your wrath on the Cross. Thank You for sending Jesus to die for my sins, so I could come alive in Him!
