Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
“Do not be afraid of the king of Babylon, of whom you are afraid; do not be afraid of him,” says the Lord, “for I am with you, to save you and deliver you from his hand.” – Jer 42:11
When God is with you, you have nothing to fear. What are you afraid of? God’s people were afraid of the Babylonian army. But here was God’s message to them: “Do not be afraid!” Because God was with them, they had no reason to fear.
God’s presence drives out fear. Whenever you feel afraid, try this prayer: Lord, let Your presence come. God’s Holy Spirit will surround you. His presence will well up inside of you, pushing out all fear and replacing your fear with faith.
God is with you! And that means you have nothing to fear.
Prayer:
Father, let Your presence come. I invite Your presence into my life like never before. Drive out fear, and fill me with faith, in Jesus’ name!
