Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
“Do not fear, O Jacob My servant,” says the Lord, “For I am with you; for I will make a complete end of all the nations to which I have driven you, but I will not make a complete end of you… ” – Jer. 46:28

God’s people were scattered. Babylon had overrun Israel! Some of the people were taken into captivity. Others fled to Egypt to avoid violence. There was so much to be afraid of! Insecurity. Poverty and lack of provision. Uncertainty of survival! Yet God’s message to His people was, “Do not fear…for I am with you.”

No matter what is happening around you, God will protect you! He is with you, and He is for you. You might be in the middle of a full-blown geopolitical crisis – but no matter what is happening in a nation or a region around you, God protects His people when they call on His name!

So let the nations rage. Let the ground shake, and the stars fall from the Heavens! Because I trust in the Lord my God, and He is with me.

A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; but it shall not come near you. – Ps. 91:7

Prayer:

Father, thank You for protecting me! I know Your protection is not contingent on my location; it is contingent on my relationship with You. Help me to trust You more than ever before. Even if things around me get worse, my relationship with You will only get better, in Jesus’ name!
