Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted the heavenly gift, and have become partakers of the Holy Spirit, and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come, if they fall away, to renew them again to repentance, since they crucify again for themselves the Son of God, and put Him to an open shame. – Heb. 6:4-6
The verses above contain a sobering warning. It is impossible for one who has “tasted the heavenly gift” of salvation, partaken of the Holy Spirit, and “tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come” to regain salvation once it has been lost. But the verses above also contain an incredible encouragement. Your Christian experience should include tasting of the “powers of the age to come”!
“Powers” is the Greek dunamis (Strong’s G1411), which means the “power for performing miracles.”[1] You should taste of the dunamis power of Jesus Christ in your own life. You should experience miracles, signs, and wonders as part of your daily life as you follow Jesus and lay your life at His feet!
Do not rest until you are experiencing the miraculous on a daily basis. We serve the God of miracles! And part of your portion is a daily experience in which you see the hand of God moving in and through your life. Do not settle for anything less!
Prayer:
Father, fill me with faith for miracles! I don’t want to lead a “normal” life. I want to lead a supernatural existence! Help me to persist in prayer until I receive everything Jesus died for me to have!
