Commentary from Pastor Michael White:

Now the word of the Lord came to me, saying: “Son of man, you dwell in the midst of a rebellious house, which has eyes to see but does not see, and ears to hear but does not hear; for they are a rebellious house.” – Ezek 12:1-2

To “dwell” means to inhabit or remain. Judah was sinful, and God’s judgment was imminent; yet God didn’t tell Ezekiel to flee! God told him to stay right where he was, and “dwell in the midst of [them].”

It is hard to effect change from the outside looking in. It is impossible to lead without being on the front lines. If you want to make a difference, you have to be present. Make the sacrifice to do life with the people God has called you to lead.

Prayer:

Father, give me the strength and courage to dwell in the midst of people who need salvation. Help me to put my own priorities down, and pick up Yours, in Jesus’ name!
