Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
Remember me, O Lord, with the favor You have toward Your people; Oh, visit me with Your salvation… – Ps. 106:4
You didn’t find God. He found you! He “visited you with His salvation.” He found you in the middle of your mess; and despite your vast array of imperfections, He saw fit to rescue you and welcome you into His Kingdom with open arms.
It is critical that we understand this. He visited us. We didn’t find Him! Whereas the latter implies that we did the work, the former admits that He did all the work. We get no credit for our salvation. God gets all the glory!
God visited you with His salvation. Thank Him! And as you do, He will visit you more and more.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for saving me! I know that You are the author and finisher of my faith. Thank You for visiting me. Help me always to remember that this is Your plan, not mine, in Jesus’ name.
