Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
Now this is the main point of the things we are saying: We have such a High Priest, who is seated at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens, a Minister of the sanctuary and of the true tabernacle which the Lord erected, and not man. – Heb. 8:1-2

Do not look to man. Look to Jesus!

Man will die; but Jesus lives forever.

Man will fail; but Jesus is faithfully victorious!

Man will lie and disappoint you; but God is not a man that He should lie (Num. 23:19). He is faithful until the end!

A priest is a man who stands between you and God. But Jesus is your High Priest who not only mediates, but also invites you into God’s very presence! You don’t need a priest. You need Jesus. You don’t need a man! You need God Himself. Go to God for yourself, and He will receive you with open arms.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for direct access to Your throne. You inhabit the Heavens! Yet somehow You saw fit to make a way for me to meet You face to face. I am so grateful, in Jesus’ name!
