Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
“But if a wicked man turns from all his sins which he has committed, keeps all My statutes, and does what is lawful and right, he shall surely live; he shall not die. None of the transgressions which he has committed shall be remembered against him; because of the righteousness which he has done, he shall live.” – Ezek. 18:21-22

We have the best deal. God’s promise to us is that if we simply turn to Him, He will forgive us: once and for all, fully and completely. When you turn to God, none of the transgressions you have committed – nothing you have ever done wrong! – will be remembered against you. The moment you turn to Jesus, He completely and fully forgets every ounce of sin that has ever existed in your life.

Righteousness overrides transgression. And the best news? You’re not righteous; but Jesus is! And when you believe in Him, you are “hidden with Christ in God” (Col. 3:3). When you are covered by the blood of Jesus and you “become” His righteousness (2 Cor. 5:21), none of your transgressions will be remembered! God will look at you and no longer see your sin; instead, He will see His Son because you are hidden in Him.

Turn to Jesus. God will forget your sin! He will welcome you into His Kingdom with open and loving arms, because you are covered by the blood of His Son Jesus Christ.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for the Cross. Thank You that faith in Jesus means righteousness in Christ! I am so grateful for Your great love, and I will pour my life out at Your feet in thankful praise to You.
