Commentary from Pastor Michael White:

So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found no one. – Ezek 22:30

If God had found one man – just one! – to stand in the gap and intercede for Jerusalem, the city would have been saved. Prayer creates a wall that prevents judgment from reaching God’s people. When we pray, we stand in the gap so destruction cannot pass through.

God could find no one to pray for Jerusalem. He wanted to save the city, but He needed the prayers of His people. God cannot protect us if we don’t pray! Will you commit to praying for our nation, so that we might be saved?

Prayer:

Father, remind me to pray for my city and my nation every single day. I know the only way to bring Heaven to Earth is to pray!
