Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
“Then those who dwell in the cities of Israel will go out and set on fire and burn the weapons, both the shields and bucklers, the bows and arrows, the javelins and spears; and they will make fires with them for seven years.” – Ezek. 39:9

God was going to give Israel victory over her enemies. This was God’s prophecy through Ezekiel: the Kingdom of Gog would wage war against Israel, but Israel would win. Israel’s enemies would “fall upon the mountains of Israel…[and be given] to birds of prey of every sort and to the beasts of the field to be devoured” (v 4). And what would happen next? Israel would take all the weapons that Gog had just used to attack her and burn them. They would have enough kindling “for seven years.”

God will make the enemy’s weapons fuel for your fire! He will take what the enemy meant to kill you and use it to fuel a passion for Jesus like never before. He will use it to motivate you and push you forward: to give you focus and drive like you have never experienced! You won’t have to worry about using your time to gather fuel any longer; the enemy’s attacks will actually provide exactly what you need.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for making the enemy’s weapons fuel for my fire. Not only do I not have to be afraid when he attacks; I can actually be a little excited when he attacks! Because after his attacks fail, I will have exactly what I need to burn brighter for You than ever before.
