Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
And the people complained against Moses, saying, “What shall we drink?” So he cried out to the Lord, and the Lord showed him a tree. When he cast it into the waters, the waters were made sweet. There He made a statute and an ordinance for them. And there He tested them… – Ex. 15:24-25

Moses needed water! He and the people of God had nothing to drink. So, “…the Lord showed him a tree.” What?! How was a tree going to help him get water?!

The Cross is the answer to everything. When Moses “cast [the tree] into the waters, the waters were made sweet.” God provided in the very place Moses needed provision! And when you insert the Cross into any given area of your life, God’s promise to you is the same: that area will go from bitter to sweet.

Do you need breakthrough in your finances? Put your eyes back on Jesus! Do you need a miracle in your marriage? Make the Cross the center of your relationship! As you insert Jesus into everything that seems dead and incapable of supporting life, God will cause Resurrection power to spring forth!

Prayer:

Father, thank You for the Cross. Wherever I need help: I want to cast the Cross into that area of my life! I pray my focus would never drift from where it belongs: the Cross of Jesus Christ.
