My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. – 1 Jn 2:1
Jesus is your Advocate! And the verdict He is fighting for is not guilty! We all make mistakes from time to time; but when you mess up, Jesus rushes to your defense.
The purpose of an advocate is to plead innocence on behalf of someone else. Jesus came and hung on the Cross to pay the price for your sins; He swallowed Your guilt so that you can be declared innocent! But innocence only comes from covenant relationship with Jesus. Just as any lawyer cannot defend you unless you enter into contract, Jesus cannot defend you unless you enter into covenant with Him! So, what are you waiting for?
Prayer:
Father, thank You for sending Your Son Jesus Christ to be my Advocate! I am so grateful for Your persistent love. No matter what, You defend me, and I am eternally grateful!
