Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
“Yet the number of the children of Israel shall be as the sand of the sea, which cannot be measured or numbered. And it shall come to pass in the place where it was said to them, ‘You are not My people,’ There it shall be said to them, ‘You are sons of the living God.’” – Hosea 1:10

Israel was in outright rebellion. They were mocking God and pursuing their own gods instead of Him. God had just finished telling His prophet Hosea, “For you are not My people, and I will not be your God”!

But even in their disobedience, Israel would still be blessed. God would make them as numerous “as the sand of the sea.” And eventually, when God’s timing was complete, they would be called sons and daughters again. They would never be lost forever. Restoration would always be their portion.

Do you know what that tells me? There is no such thing as too far gone with God. It doesn’t matter if you’ve gone off the deep end! It doesn’t matter if you feel like you messed up so bad there is no way out. God is the God of restoration! And when you turn to Him, He will receive you as His child.

You are a child of the living God. Come to Him, and be received.

Prayer:

Father, help me to always remember that I am Your child! I am so grateful that no matter how far I stray from Your commandments, You are always there to receive me. I am so grateful for Your mercy and Your love, in Jesus’ name.
