Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
“For I am God, and not man…” (Hosea 11:9). God is not a man. He loves us unconditionally like none of our friends or family members ever could. He can provide solutions that nobody else in our life possibly can. He never lies. He has no character flaws that need correction, or shortcomings that could ever cause us hurt or pain. God is infinite; and He is perfect. He therefore deserves infinite honor and respect. God is not a man; it would therefore be a mistake to think of God as a man like us. We should honor Him above everyone and everything else!
Prayer:
Father, I repent for ever thinking of You as a human being. You are not a man; You are God! Help me to remember to honor You accordingly.
