Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
Now I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals; and I heard one of the four living creatures saying with a voice like thunder, “Come and see.” – Rev 6:1
God wants you to see what He is doing. He doesn’t want to keep you in the dark. The entire Book of Revelation is a vision Jesus gave to John. Jesus gave it so you and I – through John’s writing, inspired by the Holy Spirit – could see what God is doing! Heaven’s cry to John as he was having these visions was not, “Cover your eyes!” It was, “Come and see!”
God wants you to see what He is doing. He doesn’t want to hide the future from you! But He will ask you to seek Him to see what He wants to do in your life. He doesn’t scatter prophecy and vision like candy to children at a parade; but He does trust His servants with revelation.
Surely the Lord God does nothing, unless He reveals His secret to His servants the prophets. – Amos 3:7
God is speaking. He wants to show you what He is doing! Drop what you are doing, and come and see!
Prayer:
Father, thank You for trusting me with divine revelation. Help me to never take Your word for granted! I am so humbled that You trust me with Heaven’s secrets, in Jesus’ name.
