Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
Then the Lord came down upon Mount Sinai, on the top of the mountain. And the Lord called Moses to the top of the mountain, and Moses went up. – Ex. 19:20
Revival starts with you. If you want to be changed in the presence of God, He requires your participation! God, “…came down upon Mount Sinai” (v 20), and then He called Moses up. Moses had a choice in that moment: would he stay where he was, or would he rise to the level to which God was now calling him?
And today you have the same choice! Jesus came down and died for you on the Cross. His Spirit has been poured out on “all flesh” (Joel 2:28). He came down! And His invitation is for you to go higher: to embrace a lifestyle of humble reliance on His presence. Are you willing to leave the place you currently are to embrace more of Jesus? Are you willing to say no to anything that is getting in the way of greater intimacy with Jesus for the sake of knowing Him like never before?
God came down. Will you go up? The choice is yours.
Prayer:
Father, I want to go higher! Thank You for coming down for me. Now I want to go up. I am making the conscious decision to say no to the world, and yes to revival, in Jesus’ name!
