Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
The Lord will give strength to His people; the Lord will bless His people with peace. – Ps. 29:11
Look at how strong the Lord is! His voice “breaks the cedars…of Lebanon” (v 5). When He speaks, the wilderness shakes and the forest is stripped bare (vv 8-9)! When He moves, no enemy can stand. When He heals, every sickness and disease must flee. When His wrath is poured out, the whole earth shakes and trembles (Psalm 18:7).
And do you know what God is going to do with His strength? He is going to give it to you. You already have access to it! You simply need to receive it. And here is how that transaction is going to take place:
And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. – 2 Cor. 12:9
When you “boast” in your weakness – when you gladly declare that you are weak and insufficient apart from God – He will make His strength perfect in you. When you humble yourself and ask for help, God will give you His strength. So, are you ready to get stronger? All you have to do is ask.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for Your strength! I am strong in You. Apart from You I am nothing; but in You I am everything in Jesus’ name!
