Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. – Matt. 24:30
When the world ends, will you mourn? Or will you celebrate? When Jesus appears, “…coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory,” “all the tribes of the earth will mourn.” Why would they mourn? Because they don’t know Jesus. He is not coming to collect them and they know it. And the moment He appears will be one moment too late to live your life for Him.
But those who know Jesus will rejoice when He comes to “gather together His elect” (v 31). Those who make the choice to serve Him, even though they have yet to see Him, will have much to celebrate when Jesus comes to collect His bride! Make no mistake: the day is coming. When Jesus appears, will you be ready?
Prayer:
Father, make me ready! I want to live my life fully and completely for You. Jesus, when You come I am going to be waiting with open arms. I have received You, and I know You will receive me, in Jesus’ name.
