Commentary from Pastor Michael White:

“But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only.” – Matt 24:36

Every few years, a doomsday prophecy will circulate in the news. Some Bible guru will claim to know the day and the hour of Armageddon, and predict the world is going to end at a certain time. Doomsday prophet Harold Camping caused quite a stir when he predicted the world would end on May 21st, 2011 (he was wrong). More recently, a group of Christians interpreted Revelation 12 to mean the world would end on September 23rd, 2017 (they were wrong).

Don’t waste time and energy trying to figure out exactly when Jesus is coming back! Just be ready. It is impossible to figure out the timing; but it is possible to be ready for His coming. Get right with God. Repent of your sins. Give your life to Jesus! You can have all the confidence in the world that, when Jesus comes back, you will be ready for Him.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for redeeming me! I am ready for Jesus to come back. I am excited for Jesus to come back! All I can take to Heaven with me are souls; so help me to boldly preach the Gospel to everyone I meet, in Jesus’ name!
