CityLight Pastor Commentary:

“I will walk among you and be your God, and you shall be My people” (Lev 26:12). Buried deep within Levitical Law is the Messianic promise that God will walk among us. This promise of Jesus Christ coming to die for our sins separates God’s blessing (vv 3-12) from the curse that awaits His people if they are disobedient (vv 14-39). When we walk according to the desires of our own heart, we are living under the curse described in this chapter; yet when we give our lives to Jesus Christ and rely on Him for our salvation, God will remember His covenant with us and save our souls. Christ has redeemed us from the curse by taking on the punishment of our disobedience for us (Gal 3:13)! He suffered on our behalf so that we might receive the blessing of Abraham and the promise of the Holy Spirit – not through obedience, but through faith (Gal 3:14)!

Prayer:

“Father, thank You for planning my redemption through Your Son Jesus Christ even from the foundation of the Law! Your plan was always to redeem Your people according to Your love for us. I accept the blessings of Abraham and the promise of the Holy Spirit by relying on Jesus Christ!”
