Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
So you shall bring the Levites before the Lord, and the children of Israel shall lay their hands on the Levites; and Aaron shall offer the Levites before the Lord, like a wave offering from the children of Israel, that they may perform the work of the Lord. – Num. 8:10-11
The Levites gave their lives as an offering to God. They presented themselves before the people they were born to serve – the children of Israel – and willingly offered themselves in service to the Lord. They poured their lives out as a drink offering over God’s people!
Are you ready to live your life in the same way? Are you ready to offer yourself as a living sacrifice, fully and completely to God, so that His people can receive the ministry they need? Your life is not about you; it is about serving the people and the community God has called you to serve.
Prayer:
Father, take my life and use it as You see fit. Pour me out as an offering for Your people. I am so grateful for Your love! And I want to love other people the way You have loved me, in Jesus’ name.
