Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
And the Child grew and became strong in spirit, filled with wisdom; and the grace of God was upon Him. – Lk. 2:40
As a Child, Jesus “grew and became strong in spirit.” Jesus is God! Yet even Jesus had to grow. He had to become strong in spirit. He had to allow the wisdom of God to flow out of Him, and the grace of God to rest upon Him.
And if even Jesus had to grow, so will you. You are not perfect! But you have been perfected. You are a work in progress! But God’s redemption in you is a finished work. God has done great things! But He has so much more in store for you. Stay committed to growth, and He will finish what He started in you.
For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified. – Heb. 10:14
Prayer:
Father, thank You for the mighty work You are doing in me. You have done so much! Yet there is still so much more. Thank You for always continuing to work in and through me, in Jesus’ name.
