Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. – Matt 7:24-25
The word of God is the only sure foundation we have. If we meditate on the word day and night (Ps 1:2), we build a foundation that will stand no matter what comes our way. Satan can do his best to push us over, but we will not fall if we are grounded in God’s word. The floodwaters of life can rage all around us, but if we are rooted in God’s word we will be fully prepared to weather any storm.
God’s word is truth and life. Never stray far from your Bible.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for Your word! Your word gives me life, purpose and passion. Your word protects me when I need shelter from evil. I want to live by Your word every day of my life!
