Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
And I have led you forty years in the wilderness. Your clothes have not worn out on you, and your sandals have not worn out on your feet. – Deut 29:5

The children of Israel were stuck in the wilderness for forty years. It wasn’t God’s fault they were there; they were stuck there because of their own insistent disobedience.

But even though they were stuck, they were still blessed. Just because you’re in the wilderness doesn’t mean God has stopped providing for you! Their clothes didn’t wear out, even after forty years. Their sandals didn’t wear out, even after forty years. They had food to eat and water to drink – every day – for forty years!

Are you in the wilderness? Thank God for the basics! You have food in your stomach. You have a roof over your head. You have His word to read as often as you can, and His voice to guide you as often as you listen. You have so much! Even if your destiny is taking longer than you thought it would to unfold, God has never stopped providing exactly what you need, in Jesus’ name.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for supernatural provision! You are so, so good to me. Help me to be thankful for the little things, as well as the great things. Thank You for Your faithfulness, in Jesus’ name!
