Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
Then the Lord said to him, “Now you Pharisees make the outside of the cup and dish clean, but your inward part is full of greed and wickedness.” – Lk 11:39

Have you ever been around someone who is just fake? Who wants you to believe they are doing a lot better than they actually are?

Jesus wants you to be real. We don’t have to walk around pretending we’re holier-than-thou, even though we’re actually struggling with sin. We don’t have to stand up and pretend we have the answers, even if we’re searching for God ourselves! God doesn’t care about your clean-cut exterior; He cares about what’s going on inside. So lose the mask! You don’t have to pretend you have it all figured out anymore. You get to tall God what’s really going on, and ask Him to change you from the inside out!

Prayer:

Father, thank You that I don’t have to hide anymore. I’m so thankful you care about the real me: with all my faults, and all my flaws. Thank You that You love me, even when I can’t love myself!
