Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
Then the Rabshakeh stood and called out with a loud voice in Hebrew, and spoke, saying, “Hear the word of the great king, the king of Assyria! Thus says the king: ‘Do not let Hezekiah deceive you, for he shall not be able to deliver you from his hand…’” – 2 Kings 18:28-29

Hezekiah couldn’t deliver the people of Israel. But God could! Hezekiah was a great king! But even he didn’t have the power to fight off the Assyrian army. This is why it’s so important to trust in God instead of man. Man cannot conquer every enemy; but God can! Man will inevitably fail; but God is always faithful, and always victorious.

It’s not about your strength; it’s about the strength of the God you serve. God can do things through you that you could never do yourself! Trust Him, and no one else.

So he answered and said to me: “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ Says the Lord of hosts.’” – Zech 4:6

Prayer:

Father, thank You for Your strength! I trust in You and You alone. I know that in You I will be victorious, in Jesus’ name!
