Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
It came also in the days of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah, until the end of the eleventh year of Zedekiah the son of Josiah, king of Judah, until the carrying away of Jerusalem captive in the fifth month. – Jer. 1:3
God started speaking to Jeremiah “in the days of Josiah…king of Judah” ( v. 2). Jeremiah was just “a youth” (v. 6)! But do you know what? God didn’t stop speaking. The word of the Lord “came also in the days of Jehoiakim…until the end of the eleventh year of Zedekiah” (v. 3). God started to speaking to Jeremiah, and then He didn’t stop!
And here’s why that matters to you. You’ve heard God’s voice before. I know you have! But for some reason you think He’s never going to speak to you like that again. You act like He will never reveal His will so clearly to you ever again. But He will! Because once He starts speaking, He does not stop.
God is still speaking. Stay close to His heart, and hear His word!
Prayer:
Father, thank You for speaking to me! I recognize that I still have the right to hear Your voice by the blood of Jesus. I still have the privilege of entering into Your presence by the blood of the Lamb! I am grateful, and I thank You for Your voice, in Jesus’ name.
