Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
“’I will set up shepherds over them who will feed them; and they shall fear no more, nor be dismayed, nor shall they be lacking,’ says the Lord” (Jer 23:4). A pastor’s job is to feed his congregation. He should constantly be feeding the members of his house with the Word of God and showing them how to apply it to daily life. A pastor should also teach his flock not to fear. Many times we get this backwards in the church; pastors breed fear in their sheep instead of eliminating it. We will not fear when we have a full revelation of who God is. There is no fear in love, because perfect love casts out all fear. When we understand God’s love for us, we will never fear or lack.
Prayer:
Father, help me to understand Your perfect love! I never want to fear You; I only want to accept the love You have for me.
