Commentary from Pastor Michael White:
“For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified” (Heb 10:14). Jesus died once for all sin. By sacrificing His life for us, He made us perfect. Forever. You will make mistakes, and your walk with God will not be easy; but the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ on the Cross was enough to atone for all your sins: past, present and future. Jesus does not have to come and die again for anything you’ve done. There is no sin that can overshadow the finished work of the Cross. So stop unearthing old, decrepit sin in your past. Jesus Christ has buried your past for a reason. His death – once – is enough for all.
Prayer:
Father, I thank You that one death is enough to atone for all my sin: past, present and future! I acknowledge that Jesus’ work on the Cross is finished. I rely on Your Son Jesus Christ for complete and total salvation.
